In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards, it's as important to play your cards right as it is to get the right cards. This unique RPG gives you cards as weapons against tough competition. You fight in a tournament organized by the Kaiba Corporation and win the powerful Egyptian god cards. Based on the events of the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series, The Sacred Cards features hundreds of cards, over 100 duelists and rivals, and unexpected twists and surprises.
Story
The game begins with the player and his two friends, Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler, preparing for the Battle City Tournament of the card game Duel Monsters. To win the tournament, the player must obtain six Locator cards, which are obtained by defeating certain characters in Duel Monsters. Once the player has obtained all the locator cards, they will advance to the final. However, a mysterious person named Marik has a gang of card thieves known as the Ghouls that he uses to get the three Egyptian god cards and plunge the world into darkness. Marik's rarity hunters eventually take over the entire city. Even the owner of the card store works for Marik and tries to kill the player. Then the player meets Ishizu Ishtar, who challenges him to a duel of monsters to see if he is strong enough to master an Egyptian god card. After defeating her, the player must defeat Seto Kaiba, the organizer of the tournament, to receive the first god card. After reaching the final, which takes place on an airship, the player duels with Marik. After Marik is defeated, it turns out that it wasn't really Marik. It was actually one of Marik's servants. The real Marik was the person the player met earlier in the game who became one of Yugi's friends: Namu. Marik then begins to steal the souls of those he defeats. After Marik has defeated Kaiba, the player must challenge Yugi. After Yugi is defeated, the player must face Marik. The game cannot be saved when defeated. If you have defeated the game, you restart at the last save point.
