Xenogears

Xenogears

Xenogears follows protagonist Fei Fong Wong and several others on their journey to uncover the truth behind mysterious cabalistic entities operating in their world. The principles and philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung influence the plot, character design and world of Xenogears. In addition, the symbols, theological concepts, and devotional practices of various world religions are represented in fictionalized form in the game. Important psychological themes include the nature of identity and human memory, especially in the context of the phenomenon of dissociative identity disorder. The relationship between man and machine is a central part of the game's plot, which is made clear by the presence of giant robots called "gears" that almost every playable character can control.

Story

The whole story, spoils everything: "In the beginning, Deus was created. This made many people very angry and was generally considered a bad move. Deus was created by an unknown spacefaring civilization and was originally intended to serve as a biological weapon. To power Deus, a being called Wave Existence is summoned from another dimension and locked inside Deus' engine, Zohar. However, its creators deem Deus too powerful to use and attempt to dispose of it with a spaceship named Eldridge. Deus, a sentient organism, learns of the plan to dispose of it and attacks the Eldridge during transport. After the redundant use of the word "evacuate," the Eldridge crashes on a nearby planet. The only survivor of the crash is a young boy - the first incarnation of Fei - who cries for his mother. Although his physical form was trapped in Zohar, the Wave Resistor manages to infuse the boy, who had seen him during the attack, with his power to destroy Deus and free himself. The Wave Resistor then creates a woman - Elly - in the image of Fei's mother and gives her his will. To defend himself, Deus used part of himself to create the first humans: Cain, the Gazel and Miang. Miang possesses the Ouroborous (or Urobulos according to Professor Daravon ^_^) gene, which is passed to all the women of the world, since they are all descended from her. This gene allows any woman to become Miang, guaranteeing her immortality. When we next see Fei and Elly, they are in their second incarnation (the Wave Existance keeps reincarnating them); Fei is named Abel and Elly is Elly as always. They are on the run from Cain, who kills Elly. The third incarnation of Fei and Elly takes place in the Zeboim civilization (I think that's present-day Earth). Here, people live in flying cities above the ground and fight with giant robots called Gears that use the energy emitted by Zohar to function. However, genetic defects have caused many humans, including Elly, to be unable to have children. Kim (Fei), who appears to be a scientist, creates an artificial human with self-healing nanomachines, which he names Emeralda. At that moment, the guards rush in and kill Elly and presumably Kim as well. When the fourth incarnation dawns, all that is left of the collapsed Zeboim civilization is a flying city, Solaris, ruled by Emperor Cain and the Gazel Ministry. Solaris rules the world below, but a group of rebels, including Lacan (Fei's fourth incarnation), Sophia/Elly (her real name seems to be Elly, but in Nisan she is known as Sophia), Krelian, and Roni and Rene Fatima, fight against them. The land dwellers are supported by Shevat, a new flying city built on the Tower of Babel (which is also part of the Ft. Jasper weapon system) under the supervision of Queen Zephyr. Shevat is also home to three gurus: Gaspar, Taura Melchior, and Balthazar. Taura teaches Krelian about nanotechnology. However, Shevat decides to reveal the Rebel's location to Solaris in exchange for her own safety. Solaris immediately attacks the rebel camp in Nisan and surprises the troops. To defend her people, Sophia/Elly sends her ship on a suicide attack on the Gebler troops. Her comrades escape, but Krelian goes crazy and runs away saying that there must be no God and he will create God himself. Lacan also goes crazy and is turned in two by the Wave Existance - his body becomes Grahf, while his soul is passed on to the next incarnation. Shortly after, a bunch of mysterious monsters called Diabolos appear and attack the world. Solaris and the land dwellers call a temporary truce to fight the Diabolos. With the power of the Omnigears, like Ronis Andvari, the humans win. However, during the conflict, the Gazels are killed and their personalities are stored in the databases of Solaris' SOL-9000 computer. After the war, Solaris establishes the -Ethos-, a bogus religion they use to control Earth's inhabitants, and begins using the Soylent system to turn the subjects of their genetic experiments into food or catfish. The food contains a special drug, the Limiter, which makes the people who consume it-all land dwellers-unable to resist Solaris. Losing the war, Shevat goes into hiding behind his gate. Roni and Rene have found Aveh, and Kiselv is also founded by another man (we don't know by whom). Meanwhile, Krelian has joined Solaris to pursue his mission of resurrecting Deus. A few hundred years later, things have barely changed. Solaris has manipulated a war between Aveh and Kislev on the surface to prevent the Earthlings from gaining power. Krelian, who pulls all the strings in Solaris, tries to create a contact for the wave existence. He creates a clone of Kain who carries the best qualities of humanity - Ram
