X: Beyond the Frontier

X: Beyond The Frontier is the first part of the X-Universe game series developed by Egosoft. It tells the story of the rise and fall of humanity in the universe and the attempt of Kyle Brennan to repopulate the stars with a new ship, the Experimental Shuttle. In the process, he gets caught up in a closed group of sectors connected by a series of jump gates, owes an alien credits for his help, and is hunted by several people. Without knowing it, a group of secret service people is after him, trying to hide the secret of their race: they are the descendants of a group of people who saved Earth from the terraformer fleet they created to colonize the universe. Now that the truth is coming out, in X: Beyond the Frontier the player can find a way home as Kyle Brennan, while helping a group of humans find out the truth about their origins and save Earth from the terraformers, now known as Xenon.
