Wishbringer
Wishbringer: The Magic Stone of Dreams is an interactive computer game written by Brian Moriarty and published by Infocom in 1985. It was intended to be easier to solve than the typical Infocom games and offer inexperienced players a good introduction to interactive fiction and was very well received. The player character is a postman in the small fishing village of Festeron. The quirky postmaster, Mr. Crisp, tasks the player with delivering an important envelope to the owner of Ye Olde Magick Shoppe. Said owner, a kindly old lady, asks the player to save her cat from a mysterious sorceress known only as "The Evil One". As the player leaves the store, he discovers that picturesque Festeron has mysteriously transformed into an even more sinister town called Witchville. There are only a few hours left to defeat The Evil One. Fortunately, the player soon finds the Wishbringer, a magical stone that can grant seven wishes when combined with a suitable item. The seven wishes that the stone can grant are advice, darkness, escape, foresight, freedom, happiness and rain. Each wish can only be granted once per game and requires the player to own a corresponding item.
