Vanguard

Vanguard is a shoot 'em up game that takes the player through five different zones to the City of Secrets, where the creature Gond awaits to be killed. The five zones run both horizontally and vertically and are occupied by different enemies in each zone. If you are hit by an enemy, a projectile or the walls, you lose a life. However, there are collectible items that grant the player a short period of invincibility. Shooting is slightly different from other shoot 'em ups: the player's ship can shoot in all four directions, depending on which direction the player is pointing their ship. However, the ship also flies in this direction, which can lead to it crashing into an obstacle. The ship is constantly running out of fuel, which can be replenished by killing enemies. After you have defeated Gond, the game starts again on a higher difficulty level.
