Uplink
You play an uplink agent who makes a living executing missions for large corporations. Your tasks include hacking into competitors' computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, destroying evidence or framing innocent people. You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems and buy new software and tools. As you gain experience, more dangerous and profitable missions become available. You can speculate on a fully functional stock exchange (and even influence its outcome). You can change people's academic or criminal records. You can divert money from bank transfers to your own accounts. You can even participate in the development of the deadliest computer virus ever created.
Story
You are a newly hired agent of the secret underground organization "Uplink". Your motives are neutral, and there are hackers who help the unsuspecting world and morally bankrupt ones who only want money and power over people. Eventually, a series of unusual hiring practices puts the Andromeda Research Corporation (ARC) on the map, and the story takes its course.
