U.N. Squadron
A side-scrolling shoot-em-up in the style of games like Gradius, R-Type and Scramble. The objective is to wipe out the enemy gathered around the Allied airspace in "Area 88" in a series of scenarios using military aircraft. You choose one of three unique pilots: Shin Kazama, Micky Schymon or Greg Gates, each with different skills in damage repair, weapons handling and flying skills, and fight the enemy in a series of challenging missions. The player starts with the weakest aircraft, the F8E Crusader, which can only be armed with a very basic range of weapons. However, by completing various missions, enough money can be collected to buy higher-end planes. These better planes are more maneuverable, more resistant to damage and have a longer range. In addition, the more advanced fighter planes can be equipped with superior special weapons such as napalm. Missions include attacks on sand bases, the nuclear submarine "Seavet," and enemy supply depots, as well as air defense against groups of "bandits" invading Area 88. The enemies are numerous and the pace is fast. Shoot anything that moves on the screen, and the Allied forces may end up ahead......
