Trespasser
Trespasser is a PC game that was released in 1998. It is set a year after the events of the 1997 movie The Lost World: Jurassic Park and was released on video simultaneously with the movie's release. The player takes on the role of Anne, the sole survivor of a plane crash at InGen's Jurassic Park "Site B" on Isla Nublar. With a broken arm and no equipment to speak of, Anne must escape the remote island by solving puzzles and dodging dangerous dinosaurs.
Story
The game begins with John Hammond reading an excerpt from his memoirs. Hammond is a wealthy industrialist who used his wealth to assemble a scientific team that cloned dinosaurs. Hammond wanted to build an amusement park with his biological attractions, but his park fails when the dinosaurs escape. While Jurassic Park was built on Isla Nublar off the coast of Costa Rica, the animals were bred at another location, Isla Sorna, also called "Site B." Trespasser takes place a year after the events of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, where the public learned of the existence of Jurassic Park. The game begins in a dark apartment where mail is piled up and a phone rings. On the answering machine, a woman named Jill leaves a message expressing her amazement that Anne (the apartment's resident) has actually taken a trip to the tropics. The message ends with Jill commenting, "I thought you hated flies." The scene changes to an unseen person closing and locking the door to the airplane lavatory, then choking sounds are heard. Suddenly the plane jerks and there is an apparent malfunction that causes the plane to crash. Anne awakens on the shore of an island (apparently the only survivor of the crash) and sets out to find her. Anne learns that she is on Site B, the dinosaur breeding facility of InGen. Pursued by dinosaurs, Anne uses the weapons left behind to defend herself as she explores the island. As she follows a monorail into the interior of the island, Anne encounters dinosaurs such as Brachiosaurus, Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus, Parasaurolophus and Albertosaurus. After securing the security cards from an InGen city, Anne walks past a dam to a large mountain. At the summit, Anne is able to contact the U.S. Navy through an emergency channel. After defeating the Alpha Velociraptor and its tribe that lives on the mountain, she is rescued by helicopter. The game ends when Anne returns to her apartment. When Jill calls and the message is left on the answering machine that she "better have a damn good reason not to call," Anne wordlessly responds by throwing a raptor claw on her desk.
