Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals

Story

The game is set in an alternate version of the animated movie's second season, which is largely identical except for some additional characters who have taken on Transmetal forms. Unlike the character-specific endings of the Nintendo 64 game, there are two separate stories in the PlayStation game, one for each faction, which end up roughly where they started. Maximals story The Maximals are put in a tight spot when the Axalon comes under Predacon fire. When their shields fail, Cheetor wants to take out the attackers, but Rattrap points out that going it alone would only lead to him being scrapped. Optimus Primal, however, sees an opportunity and concocts a plan: he and a team of Maximals will defeat the attackers, track them back to their base and take advantage of their weakened state to retrieve the Golden Disk. Cheetor, Silverbolt and a reluctant Rattrap join Primal's team, while Rhinox stays behind to support them and guard the ship. Primal and his team fend off the four attacking Predacons and chase them back to their ship. After defeating Megatron on the bridge of the Darkside, Primal raves about the noble motives of his heroes, while Rattrap brags about the Golden Disk now in their possession. With the other Predacons incapacitated and the Predacon computer disabled, the battle seems won, but Megatron laughs and reveals that the remaining Predacons have successfully infiltrated the Axalon in the Maximals' absence. As Megatron flies away, Optimus orders the others to quickly return to base. Predacon story As Megatron hails "another glorious Predacon day," he confirms Tarantula's latest plan: to lure the Maximals to the Dark Side, beat them mercilessly until they are forced to retreat, and then follow them to their base to finish them off. The rest of the Predacons largely agree, but Rampage remains skeptical until he is persuaded by Megatron. When a group of Maximals take the bait and arrive in the Darkside, Blackarachnia and Waspinator set out to lure the rest out of Axalon. Megatron then leads a team of Rampage, Tarantulas, Quickstrike and himself and beats Optimus Primal's team across the planet back to their ship. After defeating Primal on the bridge of the Axalon, Megatron and his team gloat and make fun of Primal's claim that he's not done yet. Before they can finish him off, Rhinox shows up and activates Sentinel's automatic weapons, taking the Predacons by surprise. Having squandered their advantage, Megatron vows revenge while Rampage blows a hole in the wall and they make their escape. Characters
