Total War: Warhammer II

Total War: Warhammer II is a strategy game of gigantic scale. Choose one of four unique, varied factions and lead a campaign of conquest to save or destroy a vast and vivid fantasy world. The game consists of two halves: a turn-based open-world campaign and intense, real-time tactical battles in the fantastic landscapes of the New World.

Story

"Millennia ago, when an invasion of Chaos threatened, a conclave of High Elf mages forged a vast arcane vortex. Its purpose was to draw the winds of magic out of the world like a plughole would an ocean, and drive the demonic hordes back into the realm of Chaos. Now the Great Vortex is faltering, and the world is once again on the brink of ruin. Powerful forces are trying to heal the vortex and avert disaster. But others are trying to use the terrible energies for their own bitter purposes. The race begins, and the fate of the world is in the hands of the winner. Prince Tyrion, the defender of Ulthuan, leads the high elves in their desperate efforts to stabilize the whirlwind over their home continent. On his palanquin throne, the Slann mage-priest Mazdamundi directs the lizardfolk warbands pushing north from Lustria. He too wants to prevent a catastrophe, but the methods of the ancients must prevail. The Witch-King Malekith and his sadistic Dark Elf hordes are pouring out of Naggaroth and their labyrinthine Black Arks. He senses a great weakness in the vortex - and a great opportunity in its demise. Meanwhile, a fourth, mysterious race stirs, its motives obscured by sinister intrigue and machinations. The time of revelation is at hand.... Four races, four outcomes, a single goal: control of the Great Vortex, for better or worse."
