Thunder Force IV

Quest for the Darkstar (Thunder Force IV in Japan and Europe) is, like its predecessor, a side-scrolling shoot-em-up. The game system is similar to that of the predecessor: there are upgradeable standard weapons and additional weapons that can be collected in the individual levels. Unlike the previous games, the player can choose between four different initial stages. It is possible to control the speed of the game by tapping or pressing a corresponding button. Another novelty is the powerful weapon "Thunder Sword", which the player acquires halfway through the game.
