Story

After a hundred years of darkness, hope awakens with the first rays of sunlight that finally break through the dark shroud. The scattered survivors of humanity come out of hiding and seek new hope. But they are not the only ones who want to survive. The many mystical creatures that lurk in the shadows are not eager for man to reclaim his place. It's up to you to lead your men away from doom and into the light.... There are no heroes, no monster slayers, and no great armies ready to drive out the dark forces that plague Thea. Just a few hopeless and starving survivors desperately trying to stay alive. And you: their only true hope. In Thea: The Awakening, you take on the role of a god, a patron saint of a small group of survivors who are desperately trying to guide their flock through the many risks and dangers that plague Thea. Only your skill and judgment will determine whether you can save humanity from eternal darkness. The gameplay in Thea consists of five key elements: Village Management and Crafting, Resource Gathering, Map Minigame, Story-Driven Events, and Exploration. Manage your village You'll have to decide how to best use the limited resources you have available, both in the form of supplies and labor. You could choose to assign more men to build a new house, but then who goes out to find the resources? Or the other way around, if you send out too many people, is your village safe? Thea: The Awakening is based on a day and a night round, and during the long nights your village is exposed to all sorts of encounters and events, such as simple attacks by hungry scavengers or a mystical plague triggered by the terrors of the night... Send out groups to search for resources Sending out scouting parties is not just a matter of choosing a direction. Many events have different outcomes or dialogue options depending on who is in your party, so choose wisely! A wise woman may be fragile and you risk losing her on the road, but if you encounter an unknown creature, she may be the one to save your skin! Take part in a unique card mini-game Overcome battles, social encounters, physical challenges, diseases, and more! Your people become your deck when you take on the challenge in the tactical card minigame, so choose your party wisely! Discover the many strange creatures that lurk in the shadows Yes, there are an abundance of creatures, both animal and human, that will inevitably attack your groups and village for treasure or simply out of hunger and desperation. But not all of your encounters have to end in combat, nor do all battles start in an obvious way! You might meet a lost child and wonder if it's a trick, or you might meet a beast and talk to it.... Do the flickering lights in the distance offer you guidance and warmth, or are they leading you astray? Explore the map and discover new places Our maps are randomly generated, so you can explore a whole new world every time you play through! There will be forgotten ruins, abandoned forests, misty swamps, or dangerous mountains where legend has it that orcs run amok....
