The Uncanny X-Men

The Uncanny X-Men is an action game with an overhead view. At the start, players select two X-Men from the list, with the second being controlled by another player or the computer. They then choose one of five levels, including a practice level. The aim of each level is to reach and destroy the hidden command center. All X-Men have similar abilities: They can move in any direction, jump and attack. Half of the characters (Storm, Iceman, Cyclops) have ranged attacks, while the other half (Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus) must attack their opponents in close combat. Each X-Man can withstand a certain number of hits before being defeated. If both X-Men fall in battle, players can select two more and try the level again until all X-Men have been used up. Power-ups include an "S" that stops time, temporary invincibility and health restoration. In addition, the X-Men can be temporarily immobilized with a magnet (symbolizing Magneto).
