The Oregon Trail
The Oregon Trail is a computer game developed by Don Rawitsch, Bill Heinemann, and Paul Dillenberger in 1971 and produced by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium (MECC) in 1974. The original game was intended to teach school children the reality of 19th century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail. It was designed to convey the reality of 19th century life on the Oregon Trail. The player takes on the role of a wagon driver leading his group of settlers by covered wagon from Independence, Missouri, to the Willamette Valley of Oregon in 1848.
