Story

Half a year after the events of the second chapter of Trails in the Sky, peace has returned to Liberl - but even in peaceful times, there are many among the noble and fortunate who burn with greed thanks to the influence of ancient artifacts. Most of the population is unaware of their abuse of power, but for the most enigmatic order of the beloved Septic Church, the Grail Knights, wiping out these would-be villains and claiming the artifacts in their name is as commonplace as pledging allegiance to the Goddess. On the eve of another successfully completed mission, high-ranking member Father Kevin Graham is immediately tasked with recovering another artifact that rests beneath Grancel Cathedral. And although he could easily accomplish this task alone, he must reluctantly work with his newest recruit, the rookie Grail Knight and childhood friend Sister Ries Argent. Thus begins a routine mission that is anything but: he is immersed in a new and mysterious realm that follows unnaturally strict rules: Phantasma. There, the history of the septic church is uncovered, as well as the past of many familiar faces who took up arms for the future of Liberl... and some of them might have been better off staying behind closed doors forever.
