The King of Dragons
The game has 16 levels, though many of them are quite short. Similar to Capcom's Knights of the Round, King of Dragons has an RPG-like level advancement system. The points you earn for killing monsters and collecting gold count as experience points, and the character levels up at regular intervals. With each level, the character's health bar increases, other attributes such as range improve, and the character becomes invulnerable for a few seconds. Along the way, various weapon and armor upgrades can also be collected for each character. King of Dragons has simple controls, consisting of an attack button and a jump button. When you press both keys, the character unleashes a magical attack that hits all the enemies on the screen (the strength varies depending on the character), but at the cost of energy. The fighter, cleric and dwarf can also use their shield to block certain attacks by tilting the joystick backwards just before impact. This is one of the many Capcom games that make use of the Yashichi power-up. There are three such power-ups hidden in the game, each giving the player an additional continuation.
