The Combatribes

The Combatribes is a beat 'em up game that was released in 1990 by Technos Japan Corp (the developers of Renegade and Double Dragon) for the arcades. A home version for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System was also released in 1992. The game revolves around three vigilantes (referred to as cyborgs in the SNES version) who have to fight against numerous street gangs in a futuristic New York City. The SNES version was released for the Wii Virtual Console in North America on November 30, 2009. The game is considered by some to be a spiritual successor to the Double Dragon series.
