The Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate
The warriors who destroyed the evil sorcerer Mangar receive a letter while celebrating their victory. The letter informs them of a terrible calamity: Mangar's master, the mad god Tarjan, has unleashed his wrath on the city of Skara Brae and completely destroyed it. The heroes visit a refugee camp nearby and set out to defeat Tarjan. Thief of Fate is the third part of the Bard's Tale series and a sequel to The Destiny Knight. Similar to its predecessors, it is a first-person fantasy role-playing game in which the player explores maze-like pseudo-3D cities, dungeons and wilderness areas. Two new character classes have been added: Geomancer and Chronomancer. There are more dungeons than in the previous games, and an automatic map function has also been added in this part. The game world is divided into different realms that can be reached through time travel. Each realm has its own theme and setting, including famous places from Earth's history, such as ancient Rome or Berlin during World War II.
