Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

NOTE: This is the original 4-player arcade version, not the NES title. The player chooses one of the four Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael. After Shredder kidnaps the Turtles' friend April O'Neil and her mentor Splinter, they must give chase, rescue their comrades and defeat the evil Shredder. The player chooses one of the four Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael. Depending on the version of the game, the characters are either selected at the start of the game or assigned via the control panel. After Shredder has kidnapped the Turtles' friend April O'Neil and her mentor Splinter, they must take up the chase, rescue their comrades and defeat the evil Shredder. Up to four players (two in some versions) can take control of each of the Turtles. Donatello has slower attacks but a longer range, Michelangelo and Raphael have faster attacks but a shorter range, and Leonardo is a versatile Turtle with average range and speed. The eight-way joystick controls the Turtles' movements, with the jump button they jump and with the attack button they strike forward with their weapon. Some combinations are also possible. The Turtles can throw foot soldiers over their heads, and if you press the jump and attack button, a special attack is executed. Raphael rolls across the floor and finishes it off with a kick, while the other Turtles perform a swinging jump attack with their weapons. In certain areas, the Turtles can also jump off the wall. Enemies can be defeated more quickly by slamming them into walls or solid objects. Many objects such as traffic cones, parking meters, fire hydrants and exploding oil drums can be hit or damaged with attacks to defeat nearby enemies. In Lock Mode, the game featured the first part of the animated series and part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song. Most of the enemies the Turtles face are the foot soldiers, who are all color-coded to indicate their attack patterns and choice of weapons. Some enemies, such as the purple-clad Foot Soldiers and the Roadkill Rodney robots, have the ability to limit the Turtles' mobility and drain their health, leaving the player vulnerable to other enemies. The bosses in the game include Rocksteady and Bebop (initially individually, later the two together), Baxter Stockman, Granitor, General Traag, Krang and Shredder himself.
Story
Although Splinter defeated Shredder and Casey Jones tried to crush him in a garbage truck, Shredder's titanium helmet saved him from certain doom. He awoke on a garbage ship and floated back to shore on a raft of non-biodegradable Styrofoam cups. On land, he began training stronger foot soldiers, but they alone were not enough. Shredder then traveled the universe with his translocation matrix beam to find stronger allies. He recruited a member of the Ultimate Galactic Sword who lived in Sector Six of the Oead Star Zone, and on the ice planet Traglodoon he found a bounty hunter named Tora. Together, Shredder, his minions and his two new allies worked together to kidnap April O'Neil. Splinter has taught her well and now it's up to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to rescue her!
