Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Tactics Ogre is an isometric 3D tactical role-playing game. The player starts with a group of troops, builds a small army and fights many battles, making decisions in between that determine which of the eight possible endings will be reached in a non-linear story. The player has the possibility to recruit characters, control each character's individual equipment, with over six male character classes, six female character classes, three semi-human classes and more. It is also possible to train in safe places to prepare the army before the next battle or the progression of the story.
Story
For eighty years, Valeria has been in constant strife, with the three leading ethnic groups all claiming leadership. With the help of the forbidden forces of the "Palace of the Dead", King Rodrick succeeds in dominating the people of Valeria until Dorgalua of Bakram successfully leads his army and defeats Rodrick. Dorgalua then claimed the throne for himself and was able to end the struggle between the ethnic groups. Under King Dorgalua, the rights of the people were upheld and all internal fighting in Valeria came to a temporary halt. All is well until the entire royal family is killed in a series of accidents. Since the late King Dorgalua had no living heirs, the ethnic groups fought again for leadership: Abuna Brantyn of the royal court, Heirophant Balbatos of the Galgastani, and Duke Ronwey of the Walisters fought for control, but in the end there was a stalemate between Balbatos and Brantyn. To maintain their power, the two men took different measures: Heirophant Balbatos pursued a policy of "ethnic cleansing," slaughtering thousands of innocent Walisters and Galgastani, while Brantyn received help from outsiders, the Dark Knights of Losloria of the Holy Lodis Empire. Denam Pavel is the main protagonist in Tactics Ogre. He is the son of Abuna Prancet. After Prancet was kidnapped by the Dark Knights and his hometown was massacred, Denam, his sister Catiua and his friend Vyce plan a revenge campaign against the Dark Knights. He must lead the "Liberation Army" to bring freedom to the oppressed people of Valeria.
