Super R.C. Pro-Am
Super R.C. Pro-Am is a racing game similar to its predecessor, R.C. Pro-Am, for the NES. In the game, players race remote-controlled cars on a series of tracks. It can be played alone, with two players using the Game Link Cable, or with three or four players using the Four Player Adapter. The game features 24 different tracks with increasing difficulty. The goal is to finish in the top three to qualify for the next track. Players who do not finish in the top three can use a continuation and try the track again; players are given three continuations and the game ends when the player does not finish in the top three and has no more continuations. Each track is different and ranges from normal ovals to tracks with many curves. The game contains many obstacles, such as oil slicks that cause players to skid, puddles of water that cause players to spin out of control, sand traps and "slow cones" that slow players down, large cones that cause players to stop, and tire walls that players bounce off of. If a player hits an oil slick and then crashes into a wall while spinning, the player's car is temporarily destroyed, losing time. There are also items on the tracks that help players along the way: "zippers" (a series of prongs on the track) give players a speed boost, roll cages allow players to crash into walls without being destroyed and allow them to ram opponents by forcing them into walls, and missiles and bombs temporarily destroy opponents' cars. There are also spare parts on the track that can be used to improve performance - tires improve traction, batteries improve acceleration, and engines improve speed. Players have the opportunity to improve their vehicles by collecting letters scattered around the tracks. By spelling "Nintendo" with the letters, players advance to a better vehicle; they can advance from "Racer" to "Speed Demon" and then to "Spiker," each of which has better performance than the previous vehicle. If players spell "Nintendo" while driving the Spiker, they win the game.
