Super Hydlide
Super Hydlide is an action role-playing game for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. It contains a morality and alignment system for "good/bad characters". As in its predecessor Hydlide II: Shine of Darkness (1985), the player has a morale meter that can be set to either Justice, Normal or Evil. There are both good and evil monsters in the game. Evil monsters attack the player character immediately, while good monsters only attack if the player character attacks them first. When you kill a monster, whether good or evil, you receive experience points, money and sometimes an item of equipment. However, if the player kills a good monster, he/she loses points in a statistic called "MF" (Morale Fiber). If the player's MF stat drops to zero, traps will appear frequently throughout the world. If the player manages to keep it above 100, rewards will appear in the form of random items found in Fairyland. The player can also kill good monsters, which usually lowers the morale meter. However, unlike Hydlide II, the morale meter no longer affects the way the townspeople react to the player. There is also a clock in the game that sets the day-night cycle, where the character must eat twice a day and sleep regularly. If the characters stay up late or do not eat regularly, their HP and attack power will gradually decrease. Every item in the game (including money) has a weight. If the total weight of the items the player character is carrying exceeds their "load capacity" (LC), they will move slowly. The game uses cutscenes for the opening and ending sequences, a Ys-like combat system, a choice of four different character classes and a wide selection of equipment and spells.
