Star Wars: X-Wing
Star Wars: X-Wing is the first DOS computer game from LucasArts set in the Star Wars universe, and also the first title in the X-Wing combat simulator game series. The player's character flies Starfighters, including the eponymous X-Wing, for the Rebel Alliance, in a story that precedes and parallels the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Story
Players take on the role of a Rebel pilot fighting the Galactic Empire before and during the decisive battle in the first Star Wars movie. The story consists of three mission tours, each with 12 to 14 missions. Although the tours can be played through in order, the missions within each tour are played in a linear fashion. Briefings, cutscenes, and in-flight messages drive the plot forward. A limited edition of the game also included a 96-page novella with story information: The Farlander Papers by Rusel DeMaria. The novella, which later became part of Prima Publishing's strategy guide, introduces a pilot named Keyan Farlander as the player's character for most of the operations[2].
