Spyro the Dragon

Spyro the Dragon is a platform game developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation. It is the first game in the Spyro the Dragon series and is about the title character, a young purple dragon named Spyro and his dragonfly friend Sparx. The first game enjoyed great popularity upon its release, and Spyro later became one of the most famous, popular and respected gaming icons for the PlayStation console. Spyro's best friend, the dragonfly Sparx, acts as the player's health meter and helps him collect gems. The various dragons Spyro unfreezes along the way are also important characters to Spyro's progress in the game. Gnasty Gnorc is the main antagonist, who has frozen all the dragons of the land in crystal.

Story

The evil Gnasty Gnorc has turned all the dragons in the Dragon Lands into crystal. He also stole the dragons' gems by locking them in chests or turning them into soldiers for his army. But he forgot one little dragon: Spyro. Now Spyro must travel through the dragon kingdom and free all the dragons from their crystal prison, retrieve the dragons' gems and defeat Gnasty Gnorc.
