Three months have passed since the events of the first game. The terror mask, restored after breaking at the climax of the first game, appears to Rick and keeps asking him to "go back to the house," telling him that Jennifer "doesn't have to die." Finally, he tells Rick, "You need me.". Rick manages to save Jennifer, and the house sinks to the bottom of the river.
