Space Colony
Space Colony: Steam Edition is a remaster of the real-time base building and strategy game from Firefly Studios, the developers of the Stronghold series. In Space Colony you colonize to survive, building intergalactic bases that make your crew productive, happy and defended against hostile aliens.
Story
Space Colony is a strategy game with two basic management levels. On one level you'll have to manage a futuristic base, while on the other you'll have to manage the relationships between the crew members that inhabit the base. The game is clearly inspired by Maxis' popular life simulator The Sims (just look at the cover), but also by management games such as RollerCoaster Tycoon, SimGolf and FireFly's Stronghold series. Although there is no multiplayer mode, the game offers a lot of content in the form of a comprehensive single-player campaign, a series of skirmish missions and an open sandbox mode. Besides, there is a map editor that lets you create your own levels. While Space Colony offers a large scope and a surprising depth, it doesn't really take advantage of any of these strengths to become an incredibly addictive or entertaining game.
