SoulCalibur II

Story

The game is set in 1590, four years after the events of Soulcalibur. The wave of slaughter that terrorized Europe came to a sudden end. The knight in azure armor, Nightmare, and his followers had managed to gather enough souls and were about to begin the restoration ceremony on the ruins of the once-proud Ostreinsburg. But just as the ceremony was about to begin, three young warriors stormed the castle. After a fierce battle, Nightmare fell, but then the evil soul in Soul Edge sent the young warriors into a vortex of hellfire and confronted them. Through Soul Edge's evil aura, Krita-Yuga revealed his true form: that of the holy sword Soul Calibur. The fierce battle ended with the victory of the holy sword, but when the vortex of Inferno collapsed, both swords were sucked into a void along with the azure nightmare and ejected to another place. Siegfried recognized his sins and embarked on a journey of atonement. Still, the blade held a strong bond, and every night it took control of the body and took the souls of those near it. The young knight's efforts were unsuccessful, and four years later the Azure Knight's nightmare returned. At that time, various warriors came into contact with the remaining fragments of the blade, which showed that the Soul Edge had survived after its defeat. Driven to either possess it or destroy it, they set out on a new journey as Nightmare begins his rampage searching for souls to restore Soul Edge.
