SimAnimals kicks off a new video game series in the Sims franchise and includes many elements of the classic Sims experience, adapted for Wii motion controls and with forest animals instead of human creatures. Over 30 species of animals are available in environments such as swamps, forests, junkyards, orchards and rivers. As in previous Sims games, the goal is to keep the inhabitants happy. By fulfilling their needs and reaching a certain "happiness level", new areas of the world will be unlocked. The game offers the player quests that either improve the general living conditions or fulfill the happiness needs of specific animals. Multiplayer mode can be played with up to four players simultaneously using four Wii remotes. There is the option to either play cooperatively and achieve positive results or to achieve opposing goals and unpredictable results.
