Shufflepuck Cafe

Shufflepuck Cafe

Shufflepuck Café is a computer air hockey game developed by Christopher Gross, Gene Portwood and Lauren Elliott for Brøderbund. There are two game modes. The player can compete in a tournament against opponents who visit the café, or he can practice in a single player mode against each opponent to find out his/her weaknesses. In the Amiga version of the game, there is a general story in which the player is an intergalactic salesman whose spaceship has broken down. He has to find a phone to call the breakdown service and get the spaceship repaired. The Shufflepuck Café is miles away, so he goes there to use the phone. The eight main Shufflepuck players stand in his way and won't let him use the phone until he has defeated them all. Once they have all been defeated, the player gets into his spaceship and flies off into the distance.
