Russell Stone is a Jewish rabbi in a poor synagogue in New York City. He is a devout man with a problem. Membership is plummeting and he lacks the funds to keep his synagogue open. Things look very bleak and he has become more cynical and bitter over time. Just when he is about to quit everything, he receives an interesting piece of news.
