Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner

This is the original Devil Summoner game from 1995 for the Sega Saturn and was only released in Japan. It was later ported to the PSP in 2005. The story is not set in the post-apocalyptic world of the original series, but in modern Japan. The player is a nameless college student who, along with his girlfriend, is attacked by demons; they are saved by the timely appearance of a charming demon hunter named Kyouji. A short time later, Kyouji is found dead under suspicious circumstances. The protagonist is then trapped in a warehouse and murdered by a deranged killer named Sid. Instead of staying dead, the player finds himself in the reanimated body of the slain Kyouji and escapes from the morgue. With the help of Kyouji's voice guiding the player out of his head, the main character teams up with Kyouji's partner Rei to save the life of his friend, who is still in danger.
