Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked
Samurai Champloo leaves the hack-and-slash action genre and offers a new way to wield a finely honed samurai blade. The title is set in Japan and is based on the TV series of the same name. As one of three playable characters - Mugen, a ruthless samurai with a break-dancing fighting style, the calculating Jin, who adheres to the decency of Bushido, and a mysterious new character exclusive to the video game - players can breathe life into a "lost episode." Stranded in the northern land of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) in search of the samurai who smells like sunflowers, players must face strange mercenaries, master swordsmen, diabolical assassins, mythical beasts and gangster monkeys. The core of the game's unique combat system lies in its innovative integration of music and linked attacks. Players can choose a number of combos based on the various hip-hop grooves that they can swap out at will. The music tracks can be collected and open up an extensive assortment of linked attacks that can be used tactically in combat.
