Rocky

Rocky

Rocky Super Action Boxing is the first licensed video game based on the popular Rocky film series. The game is based on Rocky III and was developed by Coleco. In the game, the player can compete as either Rocky Balboa or Clubber Lang against the computer in a one-player mode or against each other in a two-player "head-to-head" mode. There is also a "demo" mode if the player wants to watch Rocky and Clubber Lang fight. As Rocky Super Action Boxing is one of the later ColecoVision titles, it includes a pause feature for the game. Each boxing match consists of two, five, ten or fifteen rounds, each lasting one minute, depending on the difficulty level selected. During the game, the player's movement is limited to three positions or "lanes" vertically and from their own side of the ring to the front of their opponent horizontally. The 4-button controller allows (independently) offensive strikes to the body or head, defensive blocking for head and body and ducking. Points are awarded in the game if you hit your opponent's guard (1 point) or if you hit your opponent's head or body with a punch (2 points for each hit). Victory can be achieved in two ways: either by knockout or by scoring points if the fight goes to the end.
