Rise of Venice

Venice was at the height of its power during the Renaissance and was considered a city of decadence, beauty and intrigue. Venice was considered the hub of civilization and the cultural center of Europe, and was the most important trading post between Western Europe and the eastern part of the Mediterranean. It was also the scene of political corruption and clandestine dealings. This is where your story begins. As a young man striving for success, power and wealth, you begin, with the support of your family, to build a trading empire that includes Genoa, Tripoli, Rome, Alexandria and Constantinople, as well as many other important Renaissance cities. As you rise in Venetian society and expand your power through smart trade moves and occasional favors, you'll be able to assemble your own fleet. With it you'll build new production facilities and confront pirates and political enemies in challenging naval battles, to eventually become the Doge of Venice.
