Rhythm Tengoku
A rhythm action game like no other from the same team that developed WarioWare. Rhythm Tengoku includes 48 minigames that will test your rhythm in a variety of crazy scenarios. Rhythm Tengoku was developed by Nintendo R&D1 and released exclusively in Japan in 2006 for the GBA and in 2007 in arcades with the help of Sega. Developed by the same studio responsible for the WarioWare games, Rhythm Tengoku mixes mini-game-based gameplay with rhythm game elements and features unusually high-quality music for a GBA game. Development of the game began in 2004, and a 2002 prototype for a GBA drum sequencer was also incorporated into Rhythm Tengoku: The player can drum freely in the sound test or take over 19 drum lessons. (Source) The game contains eight stages, each with five rhythm games and a remix of the previous five, for a total of 48 different mini-games. Each game can be completed without hitting every note perfectly. If you do, you'll unlock various rhythm-related bonus games and modes, such as a drum set where you have to imitate the drummer. Similar to the Wario Ware series, Rhythm Tengoku is about following your senses and trying to perceive the different visual and auditory cues. Since the emphasis is on the senses and not on language, the game is easy for everyone to understand and play, even though it is completely in Japanese (and therefore only available in the Asian region or through an import website). For example, in one level of the game, you rap with a computer-controlled character. He speaks a color-coded Japanese phrase, and the player must press "A" in various rhythms. Although the game explains which rhythms to use for which phrase, players who don't speak Japanese can watch the hand movements on the screen to figure it out without having to know the language. Occasionally, challenges pop up where you have to complete a level without making any mistakes. If you manage to do that, you get a certificate for that level and a pink heart with a "P" appears in the level's description.
