Story
While on vacation in Pokitaru, Ratchet and Clank meet a little girl named Luna who is writing a school essay about heroes. Shortly after they meet her, Luna is kidnapped by mysterious robots. Then Clank comes across a mysterious artifact from an ancient ethnic group, the Technomites. Although Ratchet is skeptical at first, Clank believes in its existence. Ratchet and Clank set off to rescue Luna and meet Captain Qwark, who is trying to find his biological parents. Ratchet allows him to use his ship's computer in his search so that he will stop chasing them. On Kalidon, Ratchet is kidnapped by Luna, who faked her abduction, and Clank is left behind in a junkyard on Metalis. However, Clank transforms into his Ultra Mech form and sets off to destroy enemy forces and rescue Ratchet. Meanwhile, Ratchet's DNA has been extracted to create an army of clones. Emperor Otto Destruct, the leader of the Technomites, has recognized Ratchet's potential and hopes to use his DNA to create the ultimate soldier. When the duo discover that Luna is actually a robotic doll and a ship, they set off in search of Dayni Moon, where Luna reveals the cloning conspiracy to Ratchet and Clank, explaining that the Technomites are bitter because they have never received popular acclaim for their technological advances. After destroying the Luna doll, Clank tries to get the coordinates of the cloning factory out of it, but is infected with a computer virus and malfunctions, allowing the Technomite soldiers in the doll to infiltrate Clank. Ratchet uses his shrink ray to invade Clank, encounters his internal security system, and they work together to eliminate the intruders and reboot Clank's processor. Clank reveals that he got the coordinates to the factory before he was disabled, and they head to a planet called Quodrona. After Ratchet kills dozens of clones, Otto reveals that what Luna told them was a "corny story" and that his true plan is to steal the intelligence of all beings in the galaxy by using a special machine that transfers intelligence from one being to another. Qwark, who has been persuaded by Otto, believes Otto to be his father and temporarily fights on his side. Ratchet and Clank finally defeat Otto. They then learn from Skrunch that Qwark's real parents were killed by defective Technomite devices. Qwark tries to use Otto's machine to give him his intelligence, but Skrunch interferes and causes Otto to get his intelligence instead. Back at Ratchet and Clank's apartment, the shrunken Ratchet clones are being sold as toys and the two keep the shrunken Qwark company as they watch a commercial for the new toy line.
