Puyo Pop Fever

Puyo Pop Fever

Updated version of the classic Puyo Puyo puzzle game with the brand new "Fever" mode. Better known in the West under the titles Puyo Pop, Kirby's Avalanche and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Puyo Pop Fever still follows the classic bubble popping format (string four or more "Puyos" together to make them pop), but Sega also delivers completely revamped graphics with a more hand-drawn look, an expanded roster of characters, and a new "Fever Mode" that kicks the action into high gear once players fill a "Fever Indicator" on their screen. Although a four-player mode is not included, two players can compete against each other for points or survival.

Story

The game's story mode is divided into three courses that follow the adventure of Amitie, a brave girl who attends a magic school where Accord teaches her how to cast spells with Puyo. In the main storyline of the game, Accord has lost her Flying Stick, the equivalent of a magic wand, and claims to have a reward for the student who can find it. The player takes on the role of Amitie, who sets out to find the stick in the world of Puyo Puyo Fever, meeting and battling many crazy characters along the way. In a more difficult version of the story mode, you play as Amitie's rival Raffina. Which story mode you play determines which characters you meet and who ultimately finds the wand. If you play as Raffina towards the end of the game, you learn that Accord never actually lost his flying stick. She then plans to unravel the mystery of Accord and Popoi, but fails on her end as she is knocked unconscious by Accord and loses all memory of the flying stick incident. She regains consciousness near her school, where Amitie and her friends congratulate her.
