Story

An unusual virus discovered in melting permafrost is exciting the scientific community. It has a huge genome and only 1% of its genes match those in existing databases. "What the hell is going on with the other genes?" asks researcher Jean-Michel Moreau. "This opens a Pandora's box. What discoveries will we make when we examine the contents?" The oceans are turning into something completely alien. Then the mutagens began to spread to the land via a microbial mist from the air. The human population was decimated. The survivors gather in isolated refuges around the world. A few factions control most of the refuges and resources, but they have radically opposing ideologies and guard deep secrets. The Phoenix Project is a worldwide organization that is activated when the world is in danger. You control a cell of the organization that gathers some of the best scientists, engineers and soldiers in the world. After your cell is activated, you realize that you have no contact with the other cells. You'll have to find out what happened to them.
