Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom

Story

The game begins in the city-state of Landen, just before the wedding of Prince Rhys and the mysterious Lady Maia, who washed up on the shore two months earlier. Just as the vows were about to be read, the bride was kidnapped by a flying dragon-like Layan, who shouted, "Filthy Orakian! Maia will not be yours!" before disappearing with the beautiful princess. Prince Rhys is beside himself with grief and rage and sets out with an army to find his bride and destroy the last Layan descendants, but is soon stopped by his father, the king, and is told to cool off in the dungeon beneath the castle. Lena, however, soon releases him and wishes him well on his journey to find his bride. In his search for his betrothed, Rhys finds relics of the legendary war and forms alliances with strange bedfellows and old friends. His descendants take up the story after he finds Maia, and soon realize that the world they live in, and the story itself, is not what it seems.
