Ōkami
Ōkami is set sometime in classical Japanese history and combines various Japanese mythologies and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess Amaterasu, who took the form of a white wolf with celestial characters on its fur. The game is characterized by a distinct visual style inspired by the Sumi and the celestial brush, a gesture system that can be used to perform miracles.
Story
Once upon a time, there was a small village called Kamiki Village, where everyone, from the villagers to the animals, lived in peace and happiness. But one day, the legendary monster Orochi came back to life and put an evil curse on the entire area. Everything that had even a bit of life disappeared from the face of the earth, leaving behind a terrible, barren wasteland. Orochi's terrible curse spread over the entire land, turning it into a veritable hell on earth, infested with countless monsters. But there was hope. The majestic, wolf-like sun god Amaterasu. One hundred years ago, Amaterasu used the divine power of the Sky Brush to fight Orochi. But their battle engulfed them both, causing them to disappear from the world and Amaterasu to lose the thirteen powers of the Sky Brush in the process. In the present day, Amaterasu encounters a mysterious fairy spirit named Issun, and together they set out on an adventure in which Amaterasu will regain the thirteen powers of the Sky Brush and defeat Orochi once and for all.
