Ninja JaJaMaru-kun

Ninja JaJaMaru-kun

Ninja-kun's brother (from Ninja Kid) plays the main role in the game. Princess Sakura has been kidnapped by Damazu-Dayuu, and because Ninja-kun is on a journey, the task falls to the young JaJaMaru-kun. In the game, the player starts with three lives and can only run, jump and throw shuriken. The game is divided into stages, each with four levels and eight opponents. Sakura-Hime and Damazu are out of reach at the top of the screen. The enemies use various projectiles, one of which causes the player to lose a life. If JaJaMaru-kun lands on an enemy, it is only temporarily stunned and vice versa. As soon as an enemy is defeated and disappears from the screen, a ghost appears and rises to the top of the screen. It can be collected before it disappears to earn points, which vary depending on the enemy. Sakura sometimes drops petals for the player to collect, and Damazu sometimes runs around dropping bombs. To advance to the next stage, the player must defeat all eight enemies with shurikens. Some stones give away items. These include: A chariot that makes JaJaMaru-kun temporarily invincible and faster. It also destroys projectiles and enemies when touched. A bottled substance that makes JaJaMaru temporarily invincible and allows him to pass through enemies. A red ball that increases speed. Bombs (which you have to dodge). Coins that earn different amounts of points. An extra life. When all three types of power-ups are collected, Gamapa-kun, a giant frog, is summoned, which is completely invincible and can eat all enemies. If you collect three of Sakura's petals, you will enter a bonus phase in which JaJaMaru-kun is at the bottom and Damazu is at the top. Damazu drops bombs and the player throws shuriken upwards. If the player manages to hit Damazu, bonus points are awarded. If JaJaMaru-kun is hit by a bomb, he moves on to the next phase. Originally released exclusively in Japan, the game first came to the rest of the world in 2007 as part of the Wii virtual console, as well as 2021 for Nintendo Switch Online.
