Night Call
"Night Call is a new kind of non-linear narrative and noir game set in Paris, France. Using the real city map (~105 km²) and the intimacy that a cab can provide, players meet numerous and unique passengers to talk to. Some of them know something about the killer, others pretend to know something, and still others just need to talk to someone. Night Call aims not only to tell a story, but also to show the city of Paris as it really is. A bit far from the usual cliché of the city of love. A gigantic city that is always on the move and full of very different people. Every single one of them has a story to tell. Taken together, all these stories add up to a unique experience in the search for the identity of the killer."
Story
"You are a cab driver. Paris is your city and you know every corner of it. Your shift starts when the night is dark and ends when the city wakes up. You work hard to pay for your car, your cab license, and your bills. At night, passengers get into your cab. Sometimes you talk to them, sometimes they talk to you. You're not just a driver; to some, you're a priest, a confidant, a friend. You like this routine. Everything changes when the police find out that the recent murders rocking your town are connected. With the investigation stalled, they ask everyone to keep their eyes open. You want to do more. Because the victims were all customers of your cab company. Because you're the last person to see the last victim alive.... You start investigating with your only advantage: In your backseat, people talk, open up, share secrets. So listen to your passengers, gather clues, and stop the killer."
