NaissanceE
NaissanceE is a first-person exploration PC game developed by Limasse Five with the participation of Pauline Oliveros, Patricia Dallio and Thierry Zaboitzeff on UDK. The adventure takes place in a primitive, mysterious structure and the gameplay consists mainly in exploring and feeling the deep and strong atmosphere of this untimely world, but jump'n'run and puzzle areas will also enrich the experience. NaissanceE is a game, a philosophical journey and an artistic experience. The game is structured along a linear path, interrupted by more open areas for free exploration, some puzzles to solve and some experimental sequences. The player delves deeper and deeper into a primitive zone of the world "Naissance", where he encounters beings or mechanical systems. Whether these beings are life forms or pure machines, they react to the player's presence, to light and shadow, and they can open access to the following things. Even though most parts of the journey require only curiosity and logic, good control and coordination while running, breathing and jumping helps to get through the rare but challenging sequences - an homage to the old "die and try again" games. The main idea behind the game is to give the player the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of being lost in a gigantic, unknown universe and marveling at the beauty of this world. A world that seems to be alive, guiding the player, manipulating him and playing with him for whatever reason. Imagination is an important key to enjoy and understand NaissanceE. Walking through an undiscovered abstract structure raises questions about the nature of this world and the meaning of this journey. The architecture and the symbolic events will stimulate the player's imagination to find an answer, if that's all that matters.
