Monstania
The hero of the game is Fron, a sixteen-year-old boy who lives on the island of Monstania. One day, while walking in the forest, he notices a strange light. The light led him to a clearing and then suddenly disappeared. But Fron realized what the light meant - it was a fairy! Of course, everyone knew that fairies had been extinct for a long time, but Fron never believed it. All his life he has wanted to meet a real fairy, and now that the opportunity has presented itself, he is determined to find her. His friend Tia helps him on the perilous journey where they meet a mysterious little girl called Chitta and become embroiled in a great adventure that eventually leads them to battle the dark force that threatens all of Monstania! "Monstania" has a somewhat unusual gameplay in the context of console RPGs. You don't explore the world in the game: it's completely linear and leads you to the next destination by itself (only in a few places can you choose where to go next by selecting an appropriate answer). Once you are in a location, you cannot leave it until you have completed all your objectives there, which then lead you to the next location. The objective is usually a large strategic battle. You control your party members on the battlefield, attack with melee and ranged weapons and use special techniques that require action points. Unlike most other turn-based strategy games, an enemy makes a move immediately after you have done the same with one of your characters, without waiting for the "enemy move". The RPG element is not very significant: your characters level up automatically after each battle. There are also some puzzles to solve in certain locations.
