Story
The game's story is included in Extreme Force mode, which is a prequel to the events of Gundam EXA. The story revolves around the plan "Project Force", which was created to help humanity evolve and avoid total extinction after observing the events of the Universal Century. To this end, two virtual combat simulators, Aire and Tereno, create a human personality from the database AI to immerse themselves in the virtual replicas of the Universal Century, connect with different pilots from the different timelines and evolve, hoping to find a way to save humanity from extinction. The more the player progresses, the more irregularities appear and put the project in danger. Soon it turns out that these irregularities were caused by the control program of the project itself, which revealed its intentions by kidnapping Aire and Tereno. In order to speed up the evolution of humanity based on the collected data, it created a conflict through these irregularities, because it believes that evolution comes from despair. It then presents the player with the choice of either Aire or Tereno, to give him the power and data he needs to advance his plan and destroy the other. When Aire, Tereno and the player find out that Project Force wants to "evolve" humanity through war, they decide to stop the project and protect humanity, even though they know that the plan to help people evolve to avoid extinction could put everyone in danger. As the player and the navigators advance to the control program, it builds various defenses based on data from Universal Century's most powerful weapons. Finally, they reach the core of Earth 0, which turns out to be Extreme Universe. After a grueling battle with waves of duplicates of the Universal Century villains and a final showdown with the NZ-999 Neo Zeong, they manage to defeat the control program. Before the program is destroyed by the processor, however, it makes one last attempt to force humanity's hand by triggering a self-destruct sequence in Earth 0's orbital station to attempt its own "colony drop." With little time left, Aire and Tereno team up to try to become the new control program and prevent the station's drop, sacrificing their own identities to save the player. Before Aire disappears, she gives the player a name and hopes that one day they will save humanity by giving him the name --extra--. Shortly thereafter, the protagonist's thoughts are finally heard, as he soon regains consciousness with fragmented memories. Surrounded by the warmth of his friends' memories, he tries to call out his own name: ex-.
