Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie
The Super NES version of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" is a side-scrolling action game similar to the previous SNES game in the series. The game can be played by one or two players with six characters available. Billy and Kimberly are back, and Tommy joins as the White Ranger (instead of the Green Ranger as in the last game). There are also three new Rangers: Rocky, Adam, and Aisha, who replace Jason, Zack, and Trini from the first game. The player starts each level as their character's civilian form. The player can fill up a "morphing gauge" next to their health gauge by collecting lightning-shaped items (either small lightning bolts or morphing symbol lightning bolts). These items are dropped by enemies and can also be used for a special attack when the character is morphed in Ranger mode. With a special code for the game, players can start the levels as transformed Rangers instead of their civilian personalities. Once the Morphin gauge is full, the player can press the special attack button to transform; an animated sequence begins that transforms the Rangers in a digitized video (based on the transformation from Season 2, without showing the configuration of the Red Ranger helmet at the end). This also happens automatically when the player goes through the mission in civilian mode and encounters the boss that triggers the transformation sequence (regardless of how much energy the morphing gauge has). The game has seven levels. The player fights Lord Zedd's Putty Patrol until they reach the final boss. The first five bosses are all monsters from the second season of the TV series, while the sixth is original to the game. The final boss is Ivan Ooze, the villain from the movie. Unlike the first game, there are no giant robot battles in this version, although the Ninja Megazord from the movie (and the third season of the series) appears in the final sequence.
