Melty Blood

Tohno Shiki hears about a new series of murders in Misaki, similar to the murders in Tsukihime. While searching for the killer, he meets Sion Eltnam Atlasia, who starts a fight with him and tries to capture him. After the fight, she reveals to him that she is trying to capture him in order to contact the "True Ancestor" (meaning Arcueid) so that she can get information about the "Cure for Vampirism". Shiki then decides to help her with this task. Melty Blood, the sequel to the visual novels Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya, is a combination of visual novel and fighting game. The story is told through a series of battles. Depending on the outcome of the fights, the story branches out in one of two ways. Ultimately, this corresponds to the end of the game. The first two PC versions had an adventure-style story with branching and multiple endings, and a second story in arcade mode. Later versions have only the arcade mode, but they have many more characters.
