Mega Man Zero

Story

More than a century after Sigma's defeat in the Mega Man X series, a new government called Neo Arcadia was created to keep the peace. The leaders of Neo Arcadia began hunting Reploids and wrongly calling them Mavericks. The only hope for the Reploids now is a legendary Reploid: the Red Hero named Zero. Ciel believes that the Reploids are being unfairly accused and flees Neo Arcadia to form a resistance against Neo Arcadia. The game begins when Ciel and a small group of resistance soldiers are chased by Pantheons and Golems. Some of the resistance soldiers fall back, but they cannot stop their advance. Pursued, Ciel reaches a giant door. Passy, her cyber-elf, says, "I feel a strong energy emanating from here. This must be the place." The soldiers then blast open the door and Ciel, Passy and Milan enter the room, in the middle of which lies the lifeless body of Zero, who has been inactive for 100 years. Milan tries to touch him, but he is thrown back by the energy shield protecting Zero. While they are trying to figure out how to bypass the shield, Pantheons appear at the door. Milan orders Ciel to run and dies when he is hit by one of the Pantheons. Passy tells Ciel, "You must use my power. You have no choice." Ciel thinks as the pantheons get closer and closer, and sadly agrees. Passy's sacrifice breaks the energy shield and brings Zero back to life. He helps Ciel and learns that Mega Man X (though he's actually a copy) is the one responsible for retiring innocent Reploids.
