Mega Man II
In the second handheld installment of the Mega Man series, he (along with his dog Rush) defeats eight more resurrected Robot Masters (from Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3), finding the whereabouts of Dr. Wily (who has traveled to the future to steal a weapon against Mega Man).
Story
Even after his crushing defeat by Mega Man during the events of Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, Dr. Wily was already plotting his next plan. If he could get his hands on the time machine (called Time Skimmer in the American manual) developed at the Time-Space Research Laboratory (called Chronos Institute in the American manual), he could change the past. After stealing the time machine, Wily immediately wanted to set off on a journey through time, but had to put the brakes on his plans when he discovered that the time machine had a serious flaw. Meanwhile, Dr. Light had been sent to the Time-Space Laboratory to investigate. With the help of Rush's super sense of smell, he was able to figure out that none other than Dr. Wily was behind the theft. Since Dr. Light had a bad feeling about the incident, he asked Mega Man and Rush to track down the whereabouts of Dr. Wily.
