Mega Man 10
The 8-bit oldschoolers of the world have spoken. And boy, did they do so decisively. When Capcom released Mega Man 9 NES-style in 2008, it was a one-off fan service, and no matter how good the game was (and it was very, very good), no one expected another 8-bit game in the main series. And yet, here it is. Mega Man 10 is on WiiWare, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in all its retro glory. And it's also very good.
Story
In the year 20XX, a robot virus called "Roboenza" is sweeping the world, infecting and incapacitating robots and disrupting people's daily lives. Roll becomes infected with the virus and the situation worsens the more time passes and the less a cure is found. One month after the outbreak of the virus, several infected robots run amok and try to take over the world. One day, Dr. Wily shows up at Dr. Light's lab with his damaged capsule and asks for help. Mega Man saves Wily from crashing and Wily tells him that Roboenza-infected robots have attacked his spaceship and stolen the parts of a drug-making machine he was working on to cure the virus. Mega Man agrees to retrieve the stolen parts from the eight Robot Masters. Before he starts, Proto Man arrives to help Mega Man. He thinks the task is too big for one of them, and the two team up to retrieve the cure. After defeating four Robot Masters, Dr. Wily presents the prototype cure to Roll and asks Mega Man if he can feel the robo-flu. After defeating the last one, Mega Man falls ill with Roboenza and is nearly incapacitated when Dr. Wily reveals that he is behind the disease and that all robots who want the cure must serve under him. Roll gives Mega Man her sample of the cure, who recovers and pursues Wily. During the raid on the fortress, Proto Man also falls ill with Roboenza, but is saved by Mega Man, who has acquired another sample of the cure.
